CHOOSE TO LIVE FOREVER!

It's not fantasy. Here is how to do it...

1. Firstly you need to be convinced that the disciples of Jesus were just honest ordinary young guys and not con artists who made up lots of stories to decieve us. If this is an issue for you then I suggest you keep an open mind, find yourself a Bible, turn to The Gospel of John and read about their experiences. (Chapter 2 is a good starting point).2. You also need to acknowledge the existence of good and evil, love and hate, forgiveness and revenge, peace and violence. Then decide what side of the fence you want to be on.3. It's now time to get ready to talk to God. Not an easy thing to do if you don't believe He exists. You'll just have to trust me on this one "He's there alright. You'll get to know Him down the track."4. What to say? "I'd really like to know you." is a good start. "I'm really sorry about the things I have done in the past. Please forgive me! " is a good second.5. Now you need a bit of understanding as to what has gone on in the past that has opened the door for you to start a relationship with God.I'll put it as simply as I can, as I understand it. In the spiritual world, that existed before the physical was created, there was a rebellion and a top guy Lucifer (now known as Satan or the devil), chose evil in preference to good. When we came along he found an opportunity to influence us over to his camp. We succumbed and adopted his way of living. As a result he is very involved in our world and our personal lives. He is determined to keep us from knowing God in this life and experiencing eternity with God after we die.God loves us despite our errors and so He determined to offer us forgiveness and provide us with a way back to Himself. But in order to be just in punishing and annihilating Satan, He had to also punish us, the human race, who are now accomplices in Satan's kingdom. God is three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So God the Father sent His Son to earth to take on human form in the person of Jesus. Jesus endevoured to show us a better way to live. He then took the punishment of the human race on Himself in order to release us from our partnership with Satan. Accordingly Satan was allowed to murder Jesus, on a cross. That is why the cross is so important to christians.But God showed His ultimate power and brought Jesus back to life (in like manner as He wants to do for us). Jesus spent time with His disciples convincing them that He was alive and then returned to heaven. God then came to earth in His spiritual form, the Holy Spirit and He is still here today.God the Holy Spirit reveals Himself and remains close to every individual who chooses to acknowledge what Jesus did for them on the cross and seeks to love God and be loved by God.6. You might want to thank Him for paying the price, dying on the cross, giving you the opportunity to enjoy eternity with Him.7. If you have decided to take up His offer of forgiveness and plan to be a Christian then you can expect to experience God's peace and a new sense of purpose. God will begin to communicate with you as you invite Him to be involved in your life. Being a Christian is like being a tightrope artist. With God's help you do your best. But if you slip and fall the net of His forgiveness is ALWAYS there and you can climb up, ask for His help and keep going.Talk to Him regularly as you would a good friend.Written by Patrick O'Hanlon
